Why Did Electricity Prices Fall in England and Wales?

Regulatory interventions in England & Wales caused wholesale electricity companies to use different fuel generators and use a coal-fired plant. Fresh Electricity Trading Arrangements ('NETA') extended NETA to Scotland, because the British Electricity Trading and Transmission Arrangements (BETTA) can not profit customers without conjointly breaking the rules. The electrical utilities tend to hedge most of their output with forward contract sales in the spot they promote. This plug behavior of electric utilities is clear in England and Wales, where wholesale electricity is sold in spot markets that are, to some extent, lined by long-term contracts.
